Medical Billing and Coding Specialist - Remote Opportunity

This is a remote work-from-home position. Candidates must reside within a three-hour radius of Shepherdsville, Kentucky, to be considered. As a Medical Billing/Coding Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring that patient visits are accurately coded into insurance claims and billing statements, allowing for successful payments. Key Responsibilities
? Engage daily with patients/customers via phone to answer inquiries and process payments.
? Accurately code patient visits to ensure timely billing.
? Collaborate with team members to address billing and insurance questions.
? Process weekly billing of patient visits as part of an employee rotation schedule.
? Communicate with insurance companies to resolve payment issues.
? File electronic insurance claims and appeals.
? Respond to claim denials and work towards resolution.

Required Skills And Abilities
? Strong verbal and written communication skills, both over the phone and in person.
? Excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
? Knowledge of billing guidelines for Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial, and Workers' Compensation insurance.
? Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
? Previous experience handling claims, payment posting, denials, and appeals.
? Ability to work full days from home without interruptions.

Education And Experience
? High school diploma or equivalent.
? Certificate in Medical Coding.
? A minimum of two years of related experience is required.

Physical Requirements
? Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer.
? Frequent use of hands for typing and data entry.
? Ability to speak on the phone for at least 50% of the workday.
? Occasional standing, walking, and transitioning between sitting and standing positions.
